Leviticus sits between the fire of Exodus and the journey of Numbers, answering the question Exodus raised: now that God dwells with us, how do we live with a God like this?
Its sacrifices and purity laws can feel foreign, but the heartbeat is simple: 'Be holy, for I am holy' — and God provides the way for unholy people to draw near.
Hidden in the middle is one of the Bible's two great commands: love your neighbour as yourself.
