Anchored Hope
"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."
Hebrews 6:19
An anchor does not stop the storm. It keeps the boat from drifting in it. Christian hope is not the promise that the wind will die down — it is the promise that you will not be carried out to sea.
What anchors you is not below in the water you can see; it is above, in the holiest place, where Jesus has already gone.
When the surface of your life is rough, look down at the line. It is taut. It is holding. You are not drifting.
Reflection question
Where in your life right now does the surface feel rough but the line still holds?
