The Manger and the Cross
"And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us."
John 1:14
God could have stayed safe and distant. Instead he was born into a body, into a stable, into a world that would not understand him.
The manger and the cross are the same story: God choosing nearness over safety, presence over explanation, withness over power.
Whatever you are facing today, the question is not whether God understands. He has a body. He has wept. He has been hungry. He is near.
Reflection question
Where are you living as if God were far away when he has come so close?
